207. Confession from the Grave: Jack Jones Jr

Today’s case takes us to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where it is May 31, 1991. The area is well-known to sunbathers and tourists alike. It is home to the Swimmers Hall of Fame and several high-end hotels and restaurants. Millions of people set off to soak up the sand and sunshine each year, and Lorraine Anne Barrett was no different. Lori, as she was known by her friends, was a 32-year Pennesylannia native who set off to enjoy some R and R. She had rented a room at the Days Inn Lauderdale and was about to enjoy her time. The following day, the hotel cleaning staff arrived to clean her room around noon but was shocked upon finding Lorriane dead and not from natural causes. A composite was made and shared with neighboring jurisdictions, but no leads were developed. The case grew cold. It would take some time to find the man responsible, but that was only the beginning of the story, with lots of twists and turns along the way.
