68. The Ultimate Betrayal of Trust: The Murder of Tia Sharp

This episode deals with sexual abuse of a child.

In the summer of 2012, London was abuzz with excitement of being the host to the Olympic games. Close to 11K athletes from over 200 countries flooded the city for what is considered the most important sports competition.  Over 900 million people globally watched the event.  But in early August, hundreds of people in London turned their attention away from the games to a town just an hour away from the games to  focus on the disappearance of a 12 year old girl

Newspapers reported that Tia Sharp had been staying the weekend with her grandparents. On Friday August 3, about midday, she left their house in New Addington to go to the shops to buy flip flops in Croydon, about 4 miles away. Within 36 hours of Tia disappearance, over 200 people in the neighborhood would be out searching. Celebrities would tweet info to help spread information in hopes of finding the newly turned 12 year old.  By August 10, London will mourn the sexually motivated murder of young, confident, happy child.
